This summer at the National Leadership Conference in Washington D.C., National FCCLA rolled out some very exciting new changes to the Student Body program. These changes go along perfectly with the slogan Together We Are… Healthy!
The Student Body national program now consists of four units instead of three. The new units are:
- The Healthy You- Empowering teens to make wise food and lifestyle choices
- The Fit You- Empowering teens to take charge of their health and their level of fitness
- The Real You- Empowering teen to maintain positive mental health
- The Resilient You- Empowering teen to live in ways that build emotional healthy
The teen years are the perfect time for people to make positive decisions about their health to last a lifetime. As you can see, these new changes are all about giving teens the tools they need to make positive decisions in all aspects of their health.
The Student Body National Program Guide Flash Drive is an informative tool on the new Student Body Program that contains activities, games, handouts, lesson plans, links, and tools. It can be purchased online through the National FCCLA store.
Chapters that complete Student Body projects can apply for national recognition. This includes cash awards and special recognition at the National Leadership Conference, online, and in the Teen Times magazine.
We can’t wait to see all the Student Body projects that Nebraska FCCLA members complete with the new Student Body units! There’s no better way to kick off the beginning of a new Student Body era than by completing projects that show what Student Body is all about.
