Hello Nebraska FCCLA how is it going? This time of the year is crazy for a lot of people. It seems like every type of organization is having a big event at this time. It can be hard to keep track of everything and have the motivation to complete all of the assignments that just so happen to be on the same day. Not to mention that if you are a senior you have to have your entire life figured out. What I am trying to say is that life right now is hard and sometimes you just need to take a step back and prioritize. Recognizing what is most important can destress a person greatly. I use a planner and keep alarms on my phone so I remember to do my assignments and keep my work life in order, but I also add an alarm so that I am able to take a step back and relax. Every night around 9:30 I stop all of my homework and start my night routine. This is something that destresses my mind and body. I first start by cleaning up my room because it is very therapeutic. I then move on to washing my face, brushing my teeth, and finally pick out my outfit for the next day. After all that is done, I go back to my work and finish up some loose ends. I only allow myself 30 minutes so that I can go to bed and a decent time. This is just one of the ways that I help myself get through these crazy times. I believe that taking time for yourself doesn’t always have to mean you are lazy. Your mind needs time to recoup so that you can put your best foot forward and be the leader you want to be.
