What are you thankful for?

As we celebrate this FCCLA Week we asked our State Officer Team what they are most thankful for celebrating “Thankful Thursday”.  We would love to hear what you’re thankful for!  Post on social media using the #nefccla and let us know what you’re thankful for about FCCLA!

FCCLA has given me so much to be thankful for. Not only has it helped me to become a better leader, but it has also given me the resources and skills necessary to empower other students to become better leaders as well. Before I joined FCCLA, I was extremely shy. The public speaking and interpersonal communication skills that I have developed have transformed me into the leader I am today. I’m also very thankful for FCCLA for helping to prepare me for life after high school, and my future career. The leadership, interpersonal communication and career preparation that I’ve gained from my years in FCCLA will definitely benefit me, but I’m also thankful for the unforgettable experiences and friendships that will last a lifetime. Whether it was visiting our Nation’s Capital with FCCLA members from all over the United States, or taking over our State Capital with members from across Nebraska, the experiences I’ve gotten the opportunity to participate in have been tremendous. For these reasons, FCCLA will always hold a special place in my heart!

I’m thankful for FCCLA because of all the opportunities I have been given, the relationships that I have begun and grown, and the personal growth and leadership development that I have received in this amazing organization. FCCLA has taken me to places no other organization has. Secondly, I have developed so many personal relationships through FCCLA. I have met some of my best friends during my current term on the State Officer Team. I have also had the honor of networking with so many members at DLC’s, SLC’s and at NLC last year in our Nation’s Capital. I even had to opportunity to meet with State Senators at our Capitol in Lincoln and at NLC I attended the Nebraska Breakfast and met will all five of our state senators and representatives. FCCLA offers the opportunity to meet so many people, and the people that I have met in this organization will always hold a place in my heart. Finally, FCCLA offers the chance for myself to not only grow as a person in today’s society but as a leader as well. FCCLA transformed me from a person who was too nervous to ask for a refill to giving sessions all across the state of Nebraska. My public speaking skills and my leadership have grown so much from this organizations, and for that I am thankful.

I am thankful for FCCLA because over the past 6 years it has taught me so many different life skills. I know how to network better, I can actually confidently go speak to people I don’t know, and I’m way more organized than I was before. I have made so many friends and connections through FCCLA that will last a lifetime. FCCLA has made me who I am today and given me so many opportunities that I wouldn’t have had without it, and for these experiences I am forever grateful to this amazing organization.

FCCLA is the most amazing family I have ever been a part of. I am so thankful for the members that brought me here to FCCLA. I joined FCCLA as a freshman, and life just kept getting better and better. I’m thankful for the Seniors that gave me the time of day, and took time out of there day to educate and help me. I am thankful for so many aspects of FCCLA. I’m thankful for the other state officers, my chapter, my advisers, my little brother, and you, the members, I have gotten to meet throughout this year. FCCLA saved me and gave me a place, a home, for we are the builders of homes. We create a safe atmosphere where individuals can feel safe and loved. FCCLA has taught me so much. I now have so many valuable skills that I never would have learned. I love FCCLA, and we want to hear why you love FCCLA!

I am extremely thankful for FCCLA. FCCLA has provided me with multiple opportunities to develop myself and my leadership skills. Through FCCLA, I have become more outgoing. FCCLA gave me the chance to interact with people I did not know and get to know them. I am extremely grateful for FCCLA for helping me break out of my shell. FCCLA has also helped me become a stronger leader. It has taught me how to listen to others and incorporate people’s ideas. FCCLA has also pushed me to have better family relationships. Through the national program Families First, I have learned how to be a better daughter and sister which is something that I will forever be grateful for. I can not express how much this organization has shaped my life and how thankful I am for the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.

I have so much to be thankful for, so it is very hard to narrow it down. I am thankful for every single person in my life who has impacted me or pushed me to become the best I can be. You all have helped me become who I am today.
