As current members of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, we need to recognize past members who have made significant contributions to our organization. There are so many ways to recognize these individuals through chapter activities and other opportunities. Here are some examples of ways that you can recognize alumni of your chapter!

  1. Create a bulletin board! Ask alumni to send in a short summary of how FCCLA influenced their life and to include a picture! Not only is this a great way to recognize alumni, but it also is a great way to show members what is possible through their membership! An example of this bulletin board can be found below!
  1. Ask alumni to speak at a local chapter meeting! This is a great way for members to form meaningful connections with alumni! Alumni are always a great resource for information about FCCLA events such as STAR!
  1. Create a spotlight for alumni of the month in your FCS classroom or on social media! A spotlight is always a great way to recognize individuals for going above and beyond in their everyday lives!

As individual chapters, we can do so much to make our alumni feel appreciated and valued! If you participate in alumni recognition activities make sure to post about it on social media and tag Nebraska FCCLA!
