Get Back to School with FCCLA!

Most schools in Nebraska are starting in less than a month, and it’s time to make the rest of your summer break great!

First, continue to relax, spend time with friends and family, work extra hours, and sleep in before you go back to school because you may not have time to this fall. All of this will help you to mentally and emotionally prepare for school.

Next, slowly begin to acclimate back to your ‘school zone’ once you get a bit closer to that first day. You can do this by practicing and working out if you are in a fall sport, reading a book to get back into the flow, checking your class schedule with your friends’, gathering all of your school supplies, and putting events into your calendar (especially all of the no school days).

Finally, it’s important that you bring yourself into your ‘FCCLA zone’ at the same time. Set goals for what you want to achieve this year! Start working on your State Degree if you’re a senior. If you’re a chapter officer, work with your officer team to plan out a successful year. Look through all of the different STAR Events if you’re interested in competing for the first time or if you’re a seasoned pro. Also, add in the dates for your chapter meetings, District Leadership Conference, Fall Leadership Workshop, and everything else FCCLA.

So, remember, it’s never too early to start thinking about your 2017-2018 FCCLA year!
