Application Season has Arrived!

It’s that time of year again to start filling out those award and scholarship applications! While this can be a stressful time, the recognition and lessons learned are well worth it in the end. Nebraska FCCLA has many great chapter and individual awards that are definitely worth taking a look at.

Are you looking for a way to increase food availability or educate members of your community about this issue? If so, then don’t hesitate to take the initiative and complete a Feed Nebraska project. Once your project is completed, don’t forget to fill out the Feed Nebraska Award Application to gain recognition at the State Leadership Conference in April.

Has your chapter completed a project involving membership, leadership, promoting FCCLA, or Competitive Events/Programs? If you answered yes to one of these questions, then be sure to fill out a Nebraska Chapter Award Application for recognition. Take a look at the Award Option Table to makes sure you have completed all the components necessary for the award you want to apply for.

Have you completed all five units of Power of One? Completion of this award  includes recognition at the State and National levels.

Maybe your chapter has completed a project that relates to one of the National Programs. If so, be sure to complete the Nebraska FCCLA National Program Application. Chapters who complete this application will receive a nametag ribbon at SLC.  The outstanding application in each program will receive special recognition on stage. You can even take it a step further and apply for a National Program Award.  While this application does take more time it can mean an award of up to $3000 for your local chapter.

Help out both your chapter and Nebraska FCCLA by bringing in Circle of Friends sponsors, SLC program advertisement space, Opportunity Fair presenters, and STAR sponsorships. The chapter with the most sponsorships received by February 1 will receive $300 toward State Leadership Conference Registration!

Last but not least, don’t forget about the BFF (Best FCCLA Friend) application. If you brought one new person into the organization then you are eligible for this award.  In addition to being recognized at the State Leadership Conference, one lucky member will receive an FCCLA prize pack.

All of these applications can be found on the Nebraska FCCLA website, as well as other scholarship and award opportunities.  These include college scholarships for seniors in high school and the opportunity to bring attention to the outstanding advisers, administrators, and other adults in FCCLA.

Most applications are due by March 1! The deadline will be here before you know it, so get started! We can’t wait to see all the great projects and leadership lessons being learned in Nebraska FCCLA!
